About Me

Who am I?

That’s a BIG question.

I could answer in so many ways…

I’m a coach.

I’m a big believer in hope and potential.

I’m partner to Jon, and Mum to two adults.

I’m lucky to be a friend to some amazing people.

I love live music and getting outside to walk or cycle.

Before I qualified as a coach, I had a varied 30-year career as a teacher, trainer and facilitator, community project pioneer, and in leadership of various organisations including a national charity.

And now I’m applying my experience to coaching people.

Why do I coach?

Because I think you’re great.

Because you bring your own totally unique mix of talents, wisdom, life experience, values and strengths to your team and your organisation.

Quite simply, there’s no one quite like you.

And your team needs you. Your organisation needs you.

Not you in a bad mood.

Or you stroking your own ego.

Or you too exhausted to function well.

Or you feeling like you’re not good enough.

Or you terrified of getting it ‘wrong’.

Or you treating others like…less than.

No - the ‘you’ that your team, your organisation needs is the REAL you.

The you that knows who you really are.

The you that knows what you want and need.

You without fear.

You showing up with your best wisdom and skills.

You that’s in balance, caring for yourself as well as others.

Your team, your organisation needs the REAL you.

I discovered something about the reality of this when I experienced burnout aged 40.

I was laid up in bed for weeks, wondering what had happened and whether I’d ever get back to work and life again.

It was one of the worst and the best things that’s ever happened to me.

It gave me the chance to recalibrate and to reflect on:

  • who I am and what I bring to the world

  • what makes me ‘tick’

  • how I interact with others at work and in my personal life

  • what I want and need in life and work

Now I’m lucky enough to support others on their journey towards greater self-awareness, to fully realise their potential and to bring their unique contribution to their personal and work life.

During my varied career in the education, charity, faith and culture sectors, I’ve worked in a wide range of organisations with a broad range of people. I’ve experienced the good, the bad and the ugly of leadership and organisational cultures.

Everywhere I’ve worked, it’s the same story…

Healthy leadership and positive team dynamics make for a more effective organisation.

This is what gets me out of bed in the morning…supporting leaders and teams to create healthy, impactful organisations.

It’s been good to share a bit about me. I’d love to talk with you about how I might support you and your organisation to thrive.
